Let’s get a few things straight. I do not like spending more than 120$ at the grocery store. I do not like standing in the kitchen for hours. I have a 1 year old who needs my attention even in his sleep. I do not count my macros or calories, I don’t have time or the mental capacity. I am not on KETO or any other fad diet (love KETO btw). I am currently overcoming a sugar addiction I should have went to AA for, or SA (Sugarholics anonymous). Pasta used to be the only food group I knew. Salad annoys me, but I’ll eat it if I can’t taste the lettuce. So yeah, that’s where I’m at. Can anyone relate? Okay, cool, moving on.
When I decided to change my eating habits, I wanted to do something that I could stick to, a new lifestyle, not a temporary diet. The foods on this list support a High Protein, High Fat, Low Carb, Low Sugar eating lifestyle. I wanted to force my body to burn my own fat for energy rather than the carbs I consumed. Fun Fact: I started shedding weight by eating this way 2 months before I started working out consistently. Depending on the day, I keep my carb intake between 30-45 grams per day; this is something I had to work towards. YES, I have cheat days, Period, lol.
MEAL PREPPING
I am thee laziest meal preppier ever. It’s time consuming, I have a son to play with, and I can’t stand that long in a kitchen. Here is how I lazy meal prep on a budget.
- I create my shopping list for the week, which I do on Sundays. I figure out which veggies, proteins, fruit, and snacks I want to pair up for the week.
- Go to the grocery store with my list and stay away from the 9 million tempting things on every aisle
- I cook and prep Sunday evenings
Meal Prep containers are a MUST HAVE. They’re reusable, affordable, dishwasher safe, microwaveable, and best of all, they control your portions. I bought mine from Amazon and they have 3 compartments. I’ve had the same set for 9 months, so they’re great quality. CLICK TO PURCHASE. Also, if you’re a lazy chef like me, get a Crock Pot, tomorrow, thank me later.

I created this Grocery List to give you an idea of what to buy the next time you walk into the grocery store. If you’re interested in changing you and your family’s eating habits, download this list!
