Everyone told me the same story over and over and over, “The 1st trimester is rough, the second trimester is the best, the 3rd trimester is going to be awful.”
I am so glad I’m good at letting information go in one ear and out the other because my experience has been so different. Yes! The 1st trimester was rough, and that’s coming from someone who did not even puke once. The 2nd trimester did get better but it still was not all that great. So now I’m 37 weeks and it’s coming to the end, but let me tell you, I’m currently on an energy wave and hoping I can ride this thing out until I’m in labor, where I’ll actually need it.
I’m out of breath often, I have to sleep basically sitting up, I low key have insomnia, and I feel huge, but I’m pretty used to it now so it doesn’t bother me all that much. My little one moves A LOT, if I drink a fruit and kale smoothie in the morning he starts doing Zumba in my uterus. I’m also 10000% convinced that when he’s born he’s going to come out with wolverine claws; I swear he scratches me from the inside, it’s the strangest pain ever! But all in all, I feel stronger than I ever have before; both mentally and physically. I have energy and motivation to actually get things done around the house, something I definitely did not have the first two trimesters.
Some days are harder than others. Some days I get in little funks, I get extremely irritable, and have self-esteem troubles but one look at Dredyn’s face next to my bed (3D ultrasound) and I’m good. I’m by myself a lot at home all day so I’ve really been cherishing this “me time” and trying my best to just relax as long as I can. My baby shower is this weekend so I’ve been pretty stressed and overwhelmed with that but I’m trying to stay focused on all the positives. My parents have worked so hard on my baby shower and my mom has absolutely gone above and beyond; seeing all the time, work, and effort she’s putting into this just makes me that much more excited for my little one to be here. I seriously cannot wait to see her with him. She’s easily Grandma of the Year 2018.
Officially 9 Months!
