I said YES to the DRESS!

Today I went downtown to get a breakfast bagel sandwich from Noah’s Bagels. I told myself not to go into any stores and it’s clear, by the title, I disobeyed the only rule I set for myself this morning. I was walking back to my car and somehow I ended up in a dressing room, not my car, it was like voodoo or something. Anywho, I walked into this super bourgeois boutique and I was greeted by the two nicest ladies. I browsed the shop with ZERO intention on pulling out my debit card. I did the “one tag price check” to see how expensive the store was and one random shirt on sale was 100$, definitely not my kind of store. The ladies’ asked if I was looking for anything specific on my way out, and BAM!, they got me, they reeled me in with the simplest phrase. I told them I had been UNSUCCESSFULLY online shopping for a baby shower dress and they brought out a few options.

I have had my mind set on a white dress but the more I’ve thought about it, that is so generic, a trait that is far from me. I wanted something flowy, maxi length, off the shoulder, comfortable around the boobs, and something I could wear more than once. As soon as I put this dress on, this is going to sound so lame and cliché, but I felt like a princess: a real-life princess. Everything about it was perfect, in all honesty, pictures do not do it any justice. I was slightly hesitant on the color, given that I am having a boy, but I’m having a gender-neutral baby shower anyways, and screw gender norms, but anywho, that’s a different convo. The dress has vertical gold accent lines that just POP, something I cannot wait to do in 2 months, lol, omg I’m so cheesy. The website describes the dress as, “The glitz fall down Sparkle & Shine Mauve shines and twinkles as she flows and flutters.” The dress cinches me perfectly above my baby bump so I don’t feel bigger than I already am and the long bell sleeves were for sure a deal maker. The ladies made me feel as if I was picking out my first prom dress or something, which is technically true since I never went to an official Senior Prom. They proceeded to help me find a necklace to match: a gorgeous, blingy, but still classy choker style 18k gold necklace. They added an initial charm “D,” to the necklace and that was it, the damage was done. Long story short, I’m just glad I didn’t look at the price tags of all this stuff until after I gave her my card lol.
